And prepare your hand to search for the stop code (it will be a combination of letters and numbers, for example:

Notice the code stop (in this case 7B) and the first two to four digits after it. Sometimes, as with any STOP 7B, it is quite clear what is causing it. However, in other specific cases, there may be many alternative causes for the same STOP error, and you need the first two digits to find the cause. The latter are only useful if you know how to diagnose Windows crash dumps.

I recently received a Blue Touchscreen of Death (BSOD) error message on your Windows computer. However, restarting the computer and tweaking the BIOS settings usually showed some kind of BSOD error, but the computer still rebooted with such a delay that I didn’t have time to definitively analyze the specific BSOD error codes.

Is Blue Screen of Death fixable?

In my experience, at least 90% of BSODs become fixable only after this information. Indeed, this tool is often solved by disabling, disabling or removing related devices, carriers, applications or updates – as recommended by Microsoft and I summarized in the previous section.

In other useful words, the BSOD screens will appear one at a time for about a second before Windows automatically restarts. Therefore, I was unable to obtain the selected error codes needed to diagnose the BSOD error.

A download and recovery window will open when you uncheck the Auto Restart option and click OK to apply it.

This single pointer prevents Windows from automatically repairing itself in the event of a BSOD error. It was mentioned above that those who didn’t get the BSOD error might also want to disable this option.

  • I didn’t have this option when it was disabled. I got a BSOD error on a Windows PC. Also, Windows didn’t start in safe mode, so I couldn’t access the computer to disable automatic restart. Consequently, Windows kept rebooting and even BSOD twice. In this case, Windows, of course, will not respond to the “Start Windows normally” option.

Is the Blue Screen of Death common?

Even on a properly used computer, a blue screen can sometimes appear for no apparent reason – perhaps as a result of rare driver errors or hardware problems. If your Private is having regular blue screens, you have a good problem. If you encounter an azure blue screen every couple of years, then you have nothing to worry about.

Because the PC didn’t have a CD/DVD drive to install the Windows recovery disc into, I had to reinstall Windows from a USB drive.

Why does my computer keep getting the Blue Screen of Death?

Typically, BSODs are the result of software drivers or hardware-related issues. Application crashes sometimes cause blue screens of death if they are broken or buggy. This image contains crash information but also saves it to disk. However, in most cases, Windows automatically restarts when a blue screen occurs.

If the automatic restart option is disabled, Windows shuts down due to a BSOD, allowing you tolabor to write down any specific error code. Of course, you can also restart your computer by simply pressing and holding this button.

Before performing a basic clean install of Windows, we recommend that you open the recovery options screen and use the troubleshooting tools. Also read my explanation of what to do if you’re having trouble accessing Safe Mode in Windows.
